A K-12 school in Gretna, LA, is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide teletherapy services. This full-time contract assignment runs through the current school year and involves delivering teletherapy to students within a school district setting. The role requires expertise in telespeech and teletherapy models of service delivery, adapting techniques to meet K-12 students' communication needs remotely.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct teletherapy sessions for K-12 students with speech and language impairments
- Develop individualized treatment plans in compliance with educational standards
- Document student progress and collaborate with educational staff as needed
- Utilize telecommunication technology to maintain effective and engaging therapy sessions
- Maintain all licensing and certification requirements in alignment with state and ASHA standards
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current and active state license in Louisiana, as well as full licensure in state of residence
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) required
- Minimum three years of experience working in school-based settings, preferably in Louisiana
- Demonstrated experience providing teletherapy services
- Successful completion of a technology screening
- Availability for prescreen and internal eligibility interviews during specified time frames
- One professional reference to verify experience and qualifications
Work Schedule and Environment:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday following the school calendar
- Each workday includes 7 hours of therapy sessions plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Part-time arrangements may be considered based on candidate availability
